WRL Introducing Youth Career Series For Children and Teens This Summer

WILLIAMSBURG-The Williamsburg Regional Library will host a Youth Career Series this summer for children and teens to learn more about jobs. The series will include discussions and hands-on activities.

The series will kick off Wednesday, July 19 from 2pm to 5pm at the Stryker Center, 412 N. Boundary St. Steve Prince, director of Engagement & Distinguished Artist in Residence for Muscarelle Museum, will discuss jobs in museums, art history, and art education.

On Wednesday, July 26 from 2pm to 4pm, fire personnel from the Williamsburg Fire Department will talk about careers as first responders. The event will also be held at the Stryker Center.

On Wednesday, August 2 from 2pm to 5pm, also at the Stryker Center, a team member from Index AR Solutions will talk about digital education tools. Participants will have the opportunity to explore augmented reality applications and eBooks used for apprenticeship training at a major US electric utility company.

The series will conclude on Wednesday, August 9 with a presentation from 1pm to 4pm at James City County Library, 7770 Croaker Rd. A team member from the construction company George Nice & Sons Construction will talk about jobs in the construction industry.
