The realty company Liz Moore & Associates will host its annual Cupcake Wars fundraiser to benefit local charities on Friday, February 10. The company has been holding the popular event for 13 years.

Individuals can stop by Liz Moore & Associates offices in Newport News and Williamsburg from 11am to 2pm to pick up homemade cupcakes by employees and staff and make donations that this year will benefit Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters.

“I’m so proud of the fundraising work we do for the Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters,” said Liz Moore, managing broker, realtor, and owner of the company. “My son, Grayson, was in the NICU there for the first three months of his life, and CHKD was a God send to us as parents. Over the years, we’ve raised over $175,000 for the hospital, and I’m hoping this year will be our most successful Cupcake Wars ever.”

The Newport News office is located at 11801 Canon Blvd. while the Williamsburg office is located at 5350 Discovery Park Blvd. There are also offices in Richmond and Kilmarnock. Cupcake Wars proceeds in Richmond will support Beacon Tree Foundation while the Kilmarnock office is raising funds for RAL Art Center.

“Cupcake Wars is my favorite charity event that we do,” said Moore.  “It’s so much fun to watch the agents get so competitive. Who knew that a bunch of salespeople could whip up such amazing creations.”

Last year’s event raised a grand total of $20,000 in just three hours across all offices.
