YORK-When Water Country USA opens for its new season in May, guests will get to ride an updated version of one of the water park’s popular attractions, Aquazoid.

Water Country USA announced on Monday, April 25 that the new version of the ride, called Aquazoid Amped, will open to the public on May 27. However, park members will be able to check out the ride early when the park officially opens for the season on May 14.

“The opening of Aquazoid Amped is the perfect way to continue growing our park’s attraction portfolio by introducing new and exhilarating elements to a fan-favorite ride,” said Kevin Lembke, Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA Park president, in a release.

Aquazoid Amped is described as a full-sensory, immersive ride experience and will include music, lighting, and other special effects. The new water ride will plunge riders down 864 feet of a fully enclosed twisting tube at speeds of 20 feet per second.

Other new attractions that will also debut at Water Country USA during the 2022 season are the Lil’ Surfers Splash Pad for young children and the new Surfer’s Bay Bar featuring a variety of craft beers and frozen tropical drinks. The Lil’ Surfers Splash Pad will open in June across from the Surfer’s Bay Wave Pool.
