HAMPTON-After a multi-year hiatus, Air Power over Hampton Roads, a popular air show held at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, will return in spring of 2023.
On Wednesday, April 21, Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) announced that the show is making a comeback thanks to support from the community. The tentative dates for Air Power over Hampton Roads will be May 5 through May 7 of next year.
Planning for the event is still in the early stages, though the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds as well as JBLE’s F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team are confirmed to attend.
“It’s an honor to be such an integral part of this community and we’re extremely excited to come together and give back to Hampton Roads,” said JBLE installation commander, U.S. Air Force Col. Gregory Beaulieu, in a release. “We look forward to showcasing some incredible acts, STEM booths, food, fun and more. It’s been a rough couple of years for all of us, and this is a great opportunity to celebrate with our neighbors and enjoy some amazing displays of Air Power.”
As part of the return of Air Power Over Hampton Roads, JBLE is planning a competition to design the show’s logo. Official rules for the competition will be made available soon. For more information, visit the JBLE’s Facebook page.
