NEWPORT NEWS—The City of Newport News and the Newport News Economic Development Authority (NNEDA) are in the early stages of redesigning 2510 Jefferson Avenue to support commercial activity in the Marshall-Ridley Choice Neighborhood and Southeast Community. The goal is to reimagine and rehabilitate the previous East End Shopping Center to provide new commercial/retail space on the first floor and office space on the second floor. This project is being completed in connection with the Choice Neighborhood Initiative Implementation Grant.
To share information and gain insight from the public, the city and NNEDA will host two open house-style workshops at The Offices @ Two Five & J, 2506 Jefferson Ave. in Newport News on Tuesday, April 26, from 1pm to 3pm and on Wednesday April 27, from 5pm to 7pm.
Staff from the city and NNEDA as well as architects and community representatives will be on hand to answer questions and hear thoughts, ideas, and feedback about the project from interested citizens. All are invited and registration is not required. For those who are unable to attend, an online Community Response Survey is available.
