YORK- Put on your swimsuits and flip-flops, slather on some sunscreen, and head to Riverwalk Landing from 8am to noon on Saturday, July 15, for some Fun in the Sun. This special Yorktown Market Days event offers a variety of family-friendly activities. Kids will have the opportunity to participate in inflatable lawn games, paint seashells, blow bubbles, and more.
A balloon artist will be on site from 9am to noon to create colorful characters for the little ones. Guests will also be able to strum or shake instruments with One Love Caribbean Steel Drum Band, who will perform on the Riverwalk Landing Stage from 9am to noon.
While soaking up the sunshine on Water Street, attendees will have the opportunity to shop for fresh meats, produce, spices, and BBQ sauce. Sea-themed art and jewelry will also be available for purchase. During the event, Boyd’s Tasty Dogs, Coastal Thirst, Kathi’s Clam Chowder, and Chef Joseph’s food trucks will be on site.
Free parking is available at Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building, and other designated public parking lots. The free, air-conditioned, wheelchair-accessible Yorktown Trolley runs from 10am to 5:30pm daily.
