Newport News Parks & Recreation Introducing Fall-O-Ween Later This Year

NEWPORT NEWS—Because of inclement weather and covid, the Newport News Fall Festival hasn’t been held for four years. That changes this year as Newport News Department of Parks & Recreation adds a little extra fun to this year’s Fall Festival by adding a new Fall-O-Ween facet to the event.

“The event is taking over our old Fall Festival,” said Emily Nickerson, Special Events Coordinator for Newport News Department of Parks & Recreation. “We’re trying to essentially celebrate fall and add some Halloween fun to the event by combining these two favorites. We want to increase the variety of vendors but also expect to double the thrill and fun by offering some Halloween aspects, too. We’ll be adding a lot more Halloween fun, but still keeping the old Fall Festival intact with all the traditional crafters and vendors.”

Fall-O-Ween will be held on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8 at Newport News Park, which is located at 13560 Jefferson Ave. in Newport News. Parking will be $10 each day. For additional information, especially for vendors interested in joining the fun, visit https://nnparksandrec.org/.
