Newport News Public Schools Superintendent Let Go Following Shooting At Richneck Elementary School

NEWPORT NEWS-On Wednesday, January 25, the school board for Newport News Public Schools (NNPS) voted to part ways with its superintendent, George Parker III, following outrage over the shooting of Abigail Zwerner, a first-grade teacher at Richneck Elementary School, on January 6.

According to a statement, “an amicable separation agreement” was made between the school division and Parker, which will be effective February 1.

The New Local News Model

On July 1, we started a new way to pay for news. Yes, we want you to subscribe, but we know nobody subscribes to every site they visit just because there's a paywall.
