JAMES CITY-One local real estate agency has expanded its office and services, which will provide for more one stop real estate shopping for buyers and sellers.

Long & Foster on Monticello Avenue in Settlers Market recently underwent a renovation, adding more services to the mix.

“Long & Foster Real Estate has been around for 54 years and was the first to recognize the consumer preference for ‘one stop shopping’ in their real estate experience,” said Ron Miscavige, managing broker, with Long and Foster Real Estate Williamsburg.

A few of its new services are an in-house moving company called Tailored Move; Curbio, a renovation company for sellers to use for repairs; and, coming soon, an in-house home inspection company, Insight Home Inspections of Virginia, LLC. An independent warranty company has also partnered alongside Long & Foster, Cinch Home Services.

Long & Foster was started in 1968 by Wes Foster and purchased by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in August 2017, making it part of the largest real estate services companies in the country.

Long & Foster also recently renovated its office at 5234 Monticello Ave, updating its look after a decade. The company has 45 realtors and ten staff members. Miscavige is responsible for training new agents.

“Training agents is a big part of my job,” said Miscavige. “Better trained agents mean better service for our clients. That’s what is important to us. Trust. Family. Excellence. That is our company motto. And I believe in it.”
