NEWPORT NEWS-Brooks Crossing Innovation Lab, in partnership with MITRE, is hosting a two-day Drone Pilot Training program on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22. The public is invited to attend a demonstration of students flying drones at King-Lincoln Park, which is located at 600 Jefferson Ave. in Newport News, on May 22 from 10am to noon.
Brooks Crossing Innovation and Opportunity Center, located on 30th Street in the Southeast Community of Newport News, is the result of a collaboration with Newport News Shipbuilding, Old Dominion University, and the City of Newport News. Brooks Crossing partners with local industries to provide STEM learning opportunities to students of all ages. Its drone class reached capacity due to high demand and interest from the community.
