Aspen Dental Opens New Location In Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS-A new dental office recently opened in the Oyster Point area of Newport News. Aspen Dental officially opened its doors to its latest Peninsula location at 12100 Jefferson Ave. on February 17, 2022.

“We are excited to bring Aspen Dental to the Newport News community,” said Katie Stafford, senior director of external communications with TAG-The Aspen Group, in a statement via email.

“This is a 3,500 square foot state-of-the art dental office, modeled after the other Aspen Dental locations,” said Stafford. Aspen has 950 locations in the United States, though the group’s Hampton location at 1070 W. Mercury Blvd. is the only other location on the Peninsula.

Dentists on site include Dr. Shamaila Khaliq and Dr. Kylie Pelayo-Kim. Dr. Khaliq is the lead dentist at the Newport News site. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine and has been practicing dentistry since 2021. Dr. Pelayo-Kim is the team’s dentist associate in training. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and has also been practicing dentistry since 2021.

The dental office offers general, cosmetic, denture, specialty, and emergency services.

Office hours are 9am to 7pm Monday, 7am to 5pm Tuesday to Thursday, and 7am to noon on Friday. The office is closed Saturday and Sunday.
