Opening Of Harper’s Station Now Expected In Summer 2024

YORK – The target date for the opening of Harper’s Station, a new senior living facility being developed adjacent to the Kiln Creek Shopping Center, has been pushed back to summer 2024.

“While our initial projection aimed for a January 2024 opening, we’re now targeting early summer,” said Todd Filippone, the executive vice president of the SR Companies, which develops senior house communities. “This adjustment ensures we meet the high standards and quality we have set for the community.”

Harper’s Station is one large building totaling 161,000 square feet. Some sections are three stories and others are two. There will be 76 independent living units, 60 assisted living units, and 22 memory care units for a total of 158 units. Amenities include a courtyard, a theater, a bistro and bar, and an indoor pool. It is for seniors 55 and older.

“The interest from potential residents has been overwhelming, and we are delighted to have begun taking pre-opening deposits,” Filippone said.

Filippone also noted the facility will have an impact on the local economy, creating 55 full-time jobs and adding about $2 million a year to York County.

The company is based in Tallahassee, FL, and manages more than 30 independent, assisted living facilities in five states. It also is developing a facility in Gainesville, VA., and manages hotels.
