NEWPORT NEWS—For the second year in a row, The Mariners’ Museum will hold its newest event, Sips & Trips on Saturday, June 24 starting at 6:30pm. The Mariners’ Museum is located at 100 Museum Dr. in Newport News.
Combining two of the museum’s past annual events, the International Wine Classic and the Gallery Crawl, Sips & Trips takes visitors on a virtual tour of the world, featuring different “stops” throughout the exhibit halls that allow patrons to interact with museum staff and view items from the museum that are not normally on display to the general public.
This year’s event will feature multiple destinations, including an undersea port, a rock island, Chili, France, China, the East Coast of the United States, and many others to create an unforgettable journey filled with encounters and fascinating maritime stories.
Event participants will be able to enjoy specially selected wines from across the country and around the world while sampling gourmet foods from local culinary partners.
Presented by the Bronze Door Society, the oldest member-managed affinity group of The Mariners’ Museum, all proceeds from this event support The Mariners’ Museum and Park’s mission and help preserve the world’s rich maritime heritage through the conservation of artifacts, works of art, and archival materials.
Tickets for the event are $60 for members, $70 for guests, and $35 for non-drinkers (non-alcoholic beverages will be available), and are available online. Ticket includes a commemorative beverage cup.
