Food Lion recently kicked off its fourth annual Summers Without Hunger Campaign. The program benefits local Feeding America member food banks.

As part of the campaign, Food Lion customers can contribute a $5 donation at their local Food Lion grocery store. Donations will be matched by ten Food Lion suppliers: Campbell’s, Coca-Cola, Frito Lay, Gatorade, General Mills, Kellogg’s, Kraft Heinz, Mondelez, Pepsi Beverages and Unilever, doubling the impact, up to $1 million.

Food Lion’s Summers Without Hunger Campaign runs now through June 27. The goal is to donate 16 million meals as part of this year’s drive.

There are several Food Lion locations on the Peninsula. For more information, visit the Food Lion website.
