NEWPORT NEWS—The second most popular marathon in Newport News will occur on Saturday, May 20 at 3pm. The course takes runners on a scenic tour of 23rd Street, from the doors of Ironclad Distillery to the patio of Coastal Fermentory—an astounding distance of 0.081 miles (that’s right, less than a tenth of a mile).

“We’re looking forward to the Third Annual 23rd Street ‘Marathon’ and are planning another huge party,” said Seth Caddell, co-owner and events coordinator for Coastal Fermentory. “With beer, bourbon, cigars, live music, food trucks, costumes, and a ridiculously short race, I’m not sure what more anyone could want. Come out and run/trot/walk your way through the easiest race you’ll ever run.”
