JAMES CITY-A new option for sports physical therapy is coming to Greater Williamsburg.
Riverside Health System is expanding its sports physical therapy services with the addition of a new location at the Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex (WISC). The new space is expected to open the week of May 15.
“Our sports medicine program at Riverside has been growing significantly in the past few years, and sports physical therapy in particular,” said John LaRue, director of Sports PT and Performance at Riverside Health System.
Riverside currently has a sports physical therapy office on Jefferson Avenue in Newport News, and LaRue said the new location at the WISC will have a similar setup. Additionally, patients will have access to equipment and performance space that the WISC offers. Two physical therapists will operate out of the new location, which will have the latest technology and equipment necessary to specifically treat athletes.
“This will be different than a normal physical therapy space, and we will work hard to get athletes back to their sport,” said LaRue. “The partnership with the WISC is important to us, and we are really excited.”
Riverside’s new sports physical therapy office will be housed within the WISC, which is located at 5700 Warhill Trail. For more information on Riverside’s sports physical therapy program, visit is website.
