JAMES CITY-Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center in Greater Williamsburg will provide free dental care for children as part of its Give Kids A Smile event on Saturday, April 22.
Free dental cleanings and evaluations for kids up to 18 will be available during the event. Give Kids A Smile was initially started by Dr. William Bennett, Dr. Tom Luckam, and Dr. Robert Morrison as a way to provide dental care for those struggling with financial hardship or lack of dental insurance.
The program is returning after a hiatus thanks to a collaboration with Bennett, Morrison, Dr. Lorenzo Modest, Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center’s current dental director, and Dr. Rana Graham-Montaque. The event will take place from 9am to 3pm at the center, which is located at 5249 Olde Towne Rd.
Toddlers up to those who are 18 who are Medicaid eligible, are from low-income families, and who do not have insurance can be seen for cleanings and evaluations at no charge. Appointments are encouraged. Local dentists are volunteering their time along with dental hygienists and dental assistants for the event.
