Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg is accepting 2023 applications through 4pm on Friday, April 28 from community members in the quest to become first-time homebuyers.
Habitat builds affordable homes in partnership with local families. Homes are purchased with a zero-interest, 20- to 30-year mortgage by families with low to moderate incomes. Selected families are required to provide at least 300 hours of sweat equity toward building their home as well as other families’ homes. Eligible applicants are required to have lived or worked in Charles City County, Hampton, James City County, New Kent County, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg, or York County for the past 12 months.
Hard copies of the application may be picked up at the Habitat ReStores in Newport News and Williamsburg. The Newport News ReStore is located at 371 Chatham Dr., and the Williamsburg ReStore is at 1303 Jamestown Rd.
