Local Eco-Tourism Group Three-Peats With Virginia Green Travel Award

HAMPTON—Local eco-tourism group Shored Up LLC recently announced it is the recipient of a Virginia Green award for the third consecutive year. This year, the organization was chosen to receive the 2023 Travel Star Award in the category of “Innovative Green Project.”

The project, called Hampton Oyster Paddles & Shellabration, included a series of narrated kayak tours on the Hampton River and a public oyster celebration held near the docks of downtown Hampton in November 2022 to highlight the ecological, economic, and culinary importance of oysters.

The New Local News Model

On July 1, we started a new way to pay for news. Yes, we want you to subscribe, but we know nobody subscribes to every site they visit just because there's a paywall.

So if you don't want to subscribe (even at the low price of $39.99 for a year), you can pay for access to individual articles.
