WILLIAMSBURG-The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization devoted to building healthier lives for millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI Williamsburg, an affiliate of NAMI Virginia, is offering a free educational program this spring for significant others, friends, and family members of adults who are navigating life while coping with mental health conditions.
The Family-to-Family eight-week course will be held from 6pm to 8:30pm on Wednesday evenings beginning March 22. Participants will gather at the House of Mercy, 10 Harrison Ave., Williamsburg, for the duration of the program.
The support, education, and advocacy organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life and attaining the highest potential of recovery for people with anxiety, brain disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions. The course is designed to increase understanding and advocacy skills while helping participants maintain their own well-being.
