YORK-Catalillies Play Café will celebrate the grand opening of its new location in James-York Plaza on Saturday, March 11.
The business, owned by Lillian Wilborne, first opened in a temporary location on Professional Drive. The play café is now located at 551 Merrimac Trail.
The grand opening event will be held from 10am to 6pm and feature open play sessions as well as the Dominion Dogs food cart from 2pm to 6pm.
“Dominion Dogs will be joining James-York Plaza this year with a brick and mortar location and we really wanted to celebrate this during our grand opening as well,” Wilborne said. “As an open table cafe, we welcome our customers to grab a handmade drink at neighbor Column 15 or a meal at Shorty’s Diner to bring over and enjoy while the kids play.”
The event will also include giveaways, a raffle for membership, local treats, and details on the programs the play café will launch beginning the week of March 13.
“Our offerings will include afternoon preschool-aged classes, yoga, and special events like date nights, princess visits to the cafe, and our summer camp program,” Wilborne said.
Catalillies Play Café had a soft opening in February. Wilborne, the mother of two, and her husband, Steven, decided to open the café in order to provide a safe indoor space for babies and children up to age seven to play while their caregivers relax in the café.
