U.S. Senator Tim Kaine Visits The Apprentice School For Roundtable Discussion On Workforce Development

NEWPORT NEWS—On Friday, February 10, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) visited The Apprentice School at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division to tour the facility, speak with students and instructors, and hold a roundtable discussion with local leaders from Newport News Shipbuilding, the Hampton Roads Workforce Council, Virginia Peninsula Community College, and New Horizons Regional Education Center.

The intent of the roundtable discussion was to explore ways to improve access to job training in Virginia, specifically to the Hampton Roads region as it relates to the maritime industry and military readiness.
