YORK-Pinkies up: local tea lovers have a new hot spot within their reach.
York Gardens & Tearoom is celebrating its grand opening from noon to 6pm on Thursday, December 8. The tearoom and full-service restaurant is located at 1126 George Washington Memorial Highway across the street from Kiln Creek Shopping Center in the space where Yorktown Tobacco was previously located. Space is limited, so registration is required to catch a first glimpse of the new establishment.
Owner Jimmy Howell said that beginning, Friday, December 9, daily lunch service will begin at 10am, daily high tea will follow at 2pm, and dinner service will be offered between the hours of 4:30pm and 8pm. Lunch will offer a variety of soups and sandwiches. High tea hour begins with piping hot tea accompanied by tasty “tea sandwiches” made fresh in the kitchen. Then come warm scones served with preserves and the tearoom’s very own York Cream in addition to other handcrafted desserts.
