JAMES CITY COUNTY – A worrying sign of the times: The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place and the Farley Center, psychiatric and rehabilitation facilities on Mooretown Road in Greater Williamsburg, need to expand. The James City County Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the expansion proposal at its December 7 meeting. The recommendation will go next to the Board of Supervisors.
Samantha Steketee, a senior land use planner with Summit Behavioral Healthcare, explained that the facilities need “a modest expansion in order to accommodate the quickly growing number of people experiencing mental health crises and substance abuse disorders, particularly since covid-19.”
