HAMPTON—Born and raised in Hampton, Tahjere Lewis grew up having seafood every Saturday night with his extended family. In honor of the occasion, his aunt, Carol Ann Morgan Scott, would serve a special sauce that was used for dipping crab meat.
When Lewis graduated from Hampton High School in 2018 and was ready to go off to Virginia Tech with a full academic scholarship in his pocket, he couldn’t imagine not having the sauce with him at school. So, he asked his aunt where he could buy some. That’s when she told him that she makes it herself.
