Hampton Virginia Aquaplex Grand Opening Scheduled For October 29

HAMPTON—Fifteen months after officially breaking ground, the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex, located at 1908 Coliseum Dr. in Hampton, will hold its official grand opening on Saturday, October 29 from 10am to 3pm. The event will feature free entertainment, refreshments, games, and pool demonstrations.

At 10:30am, a program featuring Olympic gold medalist swimmer Cullen Jones will take place. Jones is a four-time Olympic medalist and the first African American swimmer to hold a world record. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, Jones swam on the world-record setting 4×100 meter freestyle relay event.

The New Local News Model

On July 1, we started a new way to pay for news. Yes, we want you to subscribe, but we know nobody subscribes to every site they visit just because there's a paywall.
