Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) recently received a $5 million dollar pledge from Mid Atlantic Dairy Queen, who’s been a benefactor for close to two decades, to support its “Lighting the Way” mental health initiative.
Matthew Bean, director of marketing of Mid Atlantic Dairy Queen, said the company had committed to a $1.25 million dollar pledge in 2020 over the course of five years, but when revisiting the initiative this year, they decided to increase the amount to $5 million because of their success in receiving donations from its customers.
