YORK-The York County Arts Commission is inviting residents and organizations to apply for arts grants that will benefit the county.
Individuals and groups who submit a grant application for a project must abide by the following criteria in order to be eligible: must be a non-profit; must produce, present or support dance, literary arts, media arts, music, theatre, museums, or visual and related arts; must perform or offer programming in York County, or in the Williamsburg and James City areas that also serve citizens of York; performances, projects, or services are accessible to those with disabilities and the public at large; and grant money must not be used for capital investment or operating expenses.
In addition, The York County Arts Commission will also offer a challenge grant up to $500 to promote citizen awareness of local and regional arts groups by showcasing their talents at various sites within the county. This grant provides funding support to eligible individuals and organizations to create and present their work, develop new programs, and increase opportunities for visual and performing arts groups to promote interest in their organizations.
