JAMES CITY-Throughout the year, The National Park Service waives entrance fees for certain days throughout the year. The first fee-free day is scheduled for Martin Luther King Jr. day on Monday, January 17. Virginia is home to 19 National Parks. Locally, the Colonial National Historical Park, which includes Historic Jamestowne and the Yorktown Battlefield, will not charge admission on these fee-free days. The other fee-free days in 2022 will be April 16 (First Day of National Park Week); August 4 (Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act); September 24 (National Public Lands Day); and November 11 (Veterans Day).
