State Parks Offering Free Admission on New Year’s Day

All state parks in Virginia will offer free parking and admission on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

The goal is to encourage citizens to get outside on New Year’s Day for a First Day Hike. Visitors to each park will also receive a commemorative water bottle sticker while supplies last.

Virginia has 41 state parks. Nearby state parks include York River State Park in Norge, Machicomoco State Park in Hayes, Chippokes Plantation State Park in Surry, First Landing State Park and False Cape State Park in Virginia Beach, and Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield.
