Joni’s Consign & Design Closes Its Doors

JAMES CITY-After more than five years in business, Joni’s Consign & Design in the Colony Square shopping center on Jamestown Road has closed.

The consignment shop closed at the end of October. Owner Joni Spangler decided not to renew her lease. Spangler, who’s always loved thrifting, first opened the store in 2016. Joni’s Consign & Design specialized in upscale furniture, home décor, and other items for the home including artwork, antiques, and home accessories.

“We have had a good run for five and a half years, but it’s now time to move on,” Spangler shared on social media on October 23. Spangler then gave a shout out to her dedicated employees.

“Working with these women has been a joy, and they will be sincerely missed,” she said. “But the good news is, we will always be friends.”

Spangler plans to sell leftover inventory at a later time.
