JAMES CITY-The ABC Store located at 6497 Centerville Rd. in the Lightfoot Marketplace shopping center is temporarily closed while it undergoes an expansion.

According to Dawn Eischen, public relations manager for Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC), the Lightfoot location is taking over a nearby storefront and will expand, adding 1,560 square feet of space, bringing the new total to 4,660 square feet. The store is expected to reopen in January 2022.

The Greater Williamsburg area has four other ABC Store locations on Richmond Road in Williamsburg Shopping Center, on Monticello Avenue in Monticello Marketplace, on Merrimac Trail in the James-York Plaza, and on Quarterpath Road in the Quarterpath Crossing shopping center.
