JAMES CITY-The Clean County Commission of James City County will host the free annual Litter & Recycling Expo event on Saturday, November 20, at Warhill High School from 9am to noon. The event is an opportunity to declutter before the holidays.
Participate in America Recycles Day (November 15) by bringing recyclable items to the Expo, which will reduce what goes to the landfill. Gone-for-Good Shred will also be onsite for paper shredding in order to protect against identity theft. Soles4Souls will be collecting shoes, which will be later distributed during disaster relief as well as to homeless kids in the U.S. and around the world. People in developing countries can launch their own businesses by selling the donated shoes.
Also as part of the event, Habitat for Humanity ReStore will be accepting new or good condition used furniture, appliances, and building materials. Bring your plastic packaging, such as grocery bags and plastic film for a community challenge with Trex. The JCC Solid Waste team will be collecting tires for recycling as well as glass recycling for O-I Glass.
