WILLIAMSBURG-Howard Hanna Real Estate Services is hosting a Beer Fest ‘Raise Your Cups for the Kids’ benefit in New Town on Friday, Nov. 12, from 4:30pm to 8:30pm.

Eight breweries will be in attendance serving their product, all craft breweries, with the exception of Anheuser-Busch. “Anheuser Busch is making a few small batch brews specifically for our event, picking the two best, and sending them to us,” said Howard Hanna Beer Fest Chairperson Andrea Kostoff Sarina. “You’d never be able to find what they’re serving at our event in a bottle or can.”

Ticket holders will enjoy music, several raffles, and a “pick the best brew” contest while sampling 16 beers from local breweries. In addition to Anheuser-Busch, other breweries in attendance will be Alewerks Brewing Company, Billsburg Brewery, Caiseal Beer & Spirits Co., Sly Clyde Ciderworks, Steam Bell Beer Works, St. George Brewing Co. and That Damn Mary Brewing Company.

Tickets cost $30 for beer drinkers and $15 for non-drinkers prior to the event and $5 more the day of the event. Children 12 and under are free of charge with a paying adult. Beer-drinker tickets include 16 four-ounce beer samples and snacks. Non-drinker and children’s tickets include snacks from local restaurants, water, sodas and coffee.

All proceeds support The Howard Hanna Children’s Free Care Fund, benefiting their partner hospital, Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and its Mental Health Care for Kids Initiative.

The outdoor event will take place at 5208 Monticello Ave. in the Howard Hanna Real Estate Services parking lot between Bonefish Grill and Panera Bread. Well-behaved, leashed pets are permitted. The event will be held rain or shine. To purchase tickets online, please click here.

The New Local News Model

On July 1, we started a new way to pay for news. Yes, we want you to subscribe, but we know nobody subscribes to every site they visit just because there's a paywall.

So if you don't want to subscribe (even at the low price of $39.99 for a year), you can pay for access to individual articles. Or just buy a 24-hour pass, as if you were buying a single copy of a newspaper. We use a new payment service called Transact, which lets you pay for individual articles in as little as three seconds. And you will get $3 in credit when you sign up (just an email address, no credit card required), which will let you pay for at least 20 articles.

This is new for everyone, so we're going to ease you into this. Initially, there won't be many articles that you have to pay for. Short ones will always be free. And even the longer stories will let you read the first half or so for free. We'd love to hear what you think, so send us a note at feedback@peninsulachronicle.com.
