YORK-The Virginia Beer Company has partnered with Lazy Dog Restaurants to carry its craft beer in the chain’s restaurants as well as through the Lazy Dog Beer Club.
The brewery has created a new beer specifically for the collaboration. Lazy Dog Beer Club members and restaurant patrons across the country will be able to try the new beer during the official launch on Wednesday, November 10. The beer, called The Journeyman, is a vanilla imperial porter with notes of coffee, perfect for sipping on a winter evening.
The Virginia Beer Company co-founder Robby Willey is excited about expanding its brand through the new partnership. Lazy Dog has restaurants across the United States, mostly in California. There are two locations in Virginia in Chantilly and Fairfax.
“The idea of craft beer consumers enjoying our beers in the Midwest, on the West Coast, or wherever a Lazy Dog restaurant is located, is a cool prospect for us,” Willey said. “This allows us to reach craft beer consumers beyond our current market. Through the beer club, craft beer enthusiasts can also enjoy our beers right at home, and that is also appealing to us.”
The Lazy Dog Beer Club, which first began in 2018, has more than 10,000 members nationwide. Club members receive eight beers of varying styles on a quarterly basis. Lazy Dog approached The Virginia Beer Company a few months ago about a possible collaboration.
“We were looking for breweries who are connected to their communities and the people who drink their beer,” said Vayshali Bhakta, director of marketing strategy for Lazy Dog Beer Club.
“We like to showcase craft breweries across the country. We love The Virginia Beer Company’s eagerness and excitement, and their innovation is amazing. We think our members are going to love The Journeyman. We are excited for our guests and our club members to get to know more about The Virginia Beer Company.”
