HAMPTON—Smoothie Stop Café made its debut in Hampton last October by picking up a premier spot at Peninsula Town Center, right next to the Element Hampton hotel and across from Axis Apartments. What better place for a health food café than next to a place where weary travelers are looking for a quick boost to start their day, something relaxing and refreshing at the end of a long trip, or something simple, healthy, and fresh for local residents?
Smoothie Stop began as a kiosk in March 2018, but quickly became a brick-and-mortar establishment at Market Square in Virginia Beach six months later. Not long after, they opened a second location on Baxter Road in Virginia Beach. On October 17, 2020, they opened their first Peninsula store, located at 3150 Allainby Way in Hampton.
Featuring fresh ingredients with no sugar added, Smoothie Stop offers a variety of cold pressed drinks, fruit cups, wraps, salads, and even offers detox plans to cleanse impurities from the body. Detox drinks are intended to promote healthier lifestyles, reduce cravings for sugar and processed foods, increase energy levels and promote clearer skin, build dietary discipline, and flush out toxins.
The company also believes in giving back to the community. It is a sponsor of racecar driver Brendan Queen, and the company even developed a special smoothie to celebrate that partnership. Part of the proceeds from the sales will go to the local Food Bank. The business also offers a discount for military personnel and veterans.
Smoothie Stop Café is a family-owned business that was inspired by one of the founding member’s 105-year-old great grandmother, Charlotte Anne Berry. For more information, visit their website at www.smoothiestopcafe.com or their Hampton Facebook Page.
