Executive Briefing Focuses On Impact Of Child Care Costs


The Virginia Early Childhood Foundation® and the Virginia Chamber Foundation are pleased to present the Eighth Annual Executive Briefing on “The Economics of Early Childhood: Smart Beginnings for Virginia’s Workforce Pipeline.” The event will be held virtually on October 27 from 11:30am to 1pm.

The Virginia Chamber’s Blueprint Virginia 2025 highlights the direct link between a strong start in the early years and a vibrant, productive workforce for the Commonwealth. The Eighth Annual Executive Briefing will focus on the impact of pandemic-driven childcare on the workforce, especially the maternal workforce, as well as on employers and Virginia’s economic competitiveness.

Featured speakers will include Kartik B. Athreya, Executive Vice President and Director of Research, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond; Tamm Mann, Ph.D., President and CEO, The Campagna Center; Stephen Moret, President and CEO, Virginia Economic Development Partnership.

Panelists will include Danielle Fitz-Hugh, President and CEO, Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce; Michelle Franklin, Vice President, Carilion Women’s, Nursing Support Services, and Interpreter Services and Interim Vice President of Carilion Children’s Hospital; and Ardine Williams, Vice President, Workforce Development, Amazon.

The event will be moderated by Jamelle S. Wilson, Ed.D., Dean, School of Professional and Continuing Studies, University of Richmond.
