Windchaser Meadery Offering A Mead-Making Class

JAMES CITY-Want to learn how to make mead? Windchaser Meadery on Richmond Road in Lightfoot will offer a class on the ancient art of making mead on Saturday, October 30, at 6:30pm.

The course will cover a variety of topics including the legend and history of mead making; safety procedures including how to sanitize and prepare fermenting equipment; hot and cold fermentation practices; specific gravity testing; and problem-solving measures.

The mead-making class costs $65, which includes one hour of instruction; a one-gallon glass carboy, stopper, and gas lock; one pound of honey; one gallon of distilled water; and a five-gram yeast packet.

Class space is limited. Interested individuals should email windchasermeadery@gmail.com to reserve a spot no later than Saturday, October 23.
