YORK-A Dairy Queen will be opening in York County on Route 17 in Grafton.

On Thursday, October 14, Campana Waltz Commercial Real Estate, LLC announced that a vacant 2,800 square foot building at 5704 George Washington Memorial Highway in the Grafton area near the post office has been sold. The new owners of the property plan to open a Dairy Queen in the space.

Dairy Queen, sometimes referred to as D.Q., is a fast food chain based in Minnesota and is popular for its ice cream and frozen treats, including Blizzards. Dairy Queen has two other locations on the Peninsula in Newport News on Warwick Boulevard and at Patrick Henry Mall. The D.Q. on Bypass Road in Williamsburg closed in 2018.
