It was announced on September 13 that Del Taco, a chain restaurant based out of California, will be making its way East, opening several locations in Virginia.
Del Taco plans to open ten restaurants in Virginia, including locations on the Peninsula in Newport News and Hampton and on the Southside in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach.
Del Taco is a fast-food chain restaurant specializing in Mexican cuisine and also serves salads, crispy chicken, burgers, fries, and shakes. Its headquarters is in Lake Forest, CA. Del Taco is the second largest Mexican restaurant chain in the U.S.
Del Taco signed a deal with Virginia Taco to open locations in Virginia. It was not disclosed exactly when or where the new restaurants will open in Hampton Roads.
Tara Woodall, a spokesperson with Del Taco, said with the deal being so fresh, “We do not have information on specific locations or timeframes.”
