YORK-Construction will soon begin on a new fire station as well as a new law enforcement building in York County.
York is renovating an existing building in the upper part of the county that will become Fire Station 7. The building, which is located on Mooretown Road, is the site of the former Crossroads Community Youth Home. The new fire station will provide fire and EMS services to residents and visitors of York County as well as mutual aid to James City County and Williamsburg.
Meanwhile, in the lower end of the county, construction will begin this fall on a new Law Enforcement Building on Goodwin Neck Road. The new facility will boast more than 50,000 square feet of space for the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, and will include squad, training, and interview rooms, evidence storage space, expanded office space, a large meeting room, and more. The new Law Enforcement Building is expected to be completed in the winter of 2023.
