Virginia Tech Hosts Women Impact Virginia Event

Virginia Tech Continuing and Professional Education will host a Women Impact Virginia event on Wednesday, August 25 from 9am to noon. This is a free virtual professional development series for women, focused on engaging, connecting, empowering, and inspiring women who want to make an impact on and in their communities.

Women leaders in the non-profit industry will explore various topics, including fundraising, volunteerism, and leadership. Learn about the partnerships and initiatives Virginia Tech is fostering to aid the nonprofit industry.

The fourteen speakers for the event are women in high performing leadership-based roles and include Abby Verdillo Hamilton, president and CEO of United Way of Roanoke Valley; Jennifer Thomas, executive director of Virginia Association of Museums; Blair Durham, founder and president of Black BRAND; Charm Bullard, Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities; Kristie Helmick Proctor, Center for Rural Virginia; Trinity Vullanueva, Public Art Reston; Joanie Petty, Boys & Girls Club of Blue Ridge; Dr. Hope Sinclair, executive director of Communities in Schools of Hampton Roads; Sharhonda Woods, For Kids; Candra Parker, Culture Works; Tiffany Haworth, Dan River Basin Association; and others.
