YORK-Somerwell House on Main Street in Yorktown is available for lease.
The National Park Service (NPS) recently announced a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Somerwell House in part as a way to revitalize Main Street in historic Yorktown as the NPS prepares for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
Somerwell House, located at 401 Main Street, is a 1.5 story brick Colonial home that was built around 1707 by local ferryman Mungo Somerwell.
The house boasts two floors, a basement, stables, and a white picket fence in the backyard. Somerwell House is a little over 2,000 square feet while the stable has roughly 250 square feet of rentable space. The house also has two bathrooms and a small kitchen on the first floor with working appliances.
