NEWPORT NEWS-The Mediterranean food chain Cava recently opened a second location on the Peninsula.

Cava opened in May at The Marketplace at Tech Center in the former Zoe’s Kitchen. Cava is a chain restaurant that specializes in fresh, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. The Cava company, based out of Maryland, acquired the Zoe’s Kitchen chain in 2018. Zoe’s Kitchen also served Mediterranean fare.

The new Cava location in Newport News follows the opening of Cava in Williamsburg, which took over the former Zoe’s Kitchen in Settler’s Market earlier this spring.

Cava currently has more than 30 restaurants in Virginia including locations in Chesapeake and in Richmond.
