Summer Job Program Seeks Businesses

HAMPTON—Hampton’s Summer Youth Employment Program, which gives young adults ages 16-24 summer work experience designed to cultivate their professional and personal goals, is looking for employers to provide summer job opportunities to program participants.

All program participants are paid by Hampton’s Office of Youth and Young Adult Opportunities. The employment program was created to offer job opportunities within city departments, local businesses, and non-profits.

The department determines student interest and availability to match students with suitable host businesses. Students participate in a pre-employment training week, tentatively scheduled to be held June 28–July 2, and can begin working at their host site the following week.

Interested businesses can fill out a Host Site Interest Form. The deadline for student application has passed. Click here for additional information.
