New Indian Restaurant Moves Into Courthouse Commons

JAMES CITY-A new Indian restaurant has opened in Courthouse Commons on Monticello Avenue.

Masala Craft Indian Kitchen is owned by Avinash and Neeta Arora and their daughter, Shaveta.

The restaurant features a variety of Indian dishes using fresh ingredients and spices. The menu is inspired by recipes from all over India including the owners’ native state of Punjab.

Among the Arora family’s menu specialties include Sarson Ka Saag, a spinach and mustard greens dish; Butter Chicken; Dal Makhni, a vegetarian dish made with lentils, beans, and spices; and the classic chicken dish Tikka Masala.

Masala Craft offers a variety of menu options including soups and salads, biryani, grilled entrees, seafood, chicken, lamb and goat, and vegetarian and gluten-free dishes.

The new restaurant had a soft opening on May 18. An official grand opening is planned for Thursday, May 27.

Masala Craft occupies the space that once housed Sticks Kebob Shop. It was most recently a Japanese restaurant before Masala Craft moved in.
