Hampton Business Receives 2021 Virginia Green Travel Star Award

HAMPTON—SHORED UP LLC, a Hampton-based ecotour business, has won the 2021 Virginia Green Travel Star Award for Green Tour of the Year. The award, one of the 15 highest awards given to Virginia Tourism operators from across the state, was presented at the Virginia Green Travel Conference held on April 28 and 29. This recognition is given to businesses for their outstanding efforts to protect the environment and support green tourism in Virginia.

The Virginia Green program is run through a partnership between the Virginia Department of Quality, the Virginia Tourism Corporation, the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging, and Travel Association, and the Green Travel Alliance.

SHORED UP LLC Owners Claire Neubert and Linda Hamm, both Virginia Certified Ecotour Guides, offer a variety of land-based experiences as well as kayak/paddling tours that connect people with the beauty of nature and the importance of conservation.
